IMG_2002I have always had a passion for fitness and living an active lifestyle. Growing up in Sandusky, Ohio, I was always involved in some type of sporting event or outdoor activity in high school as well as college. After graduating from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in 2007, I packed my life up and moved down to Southwest Florida. In an effort to meet people in my new found home, I stumbled upon CrossFit which seemed like the perfect match for my competitive nature and athleticism. Ever since I took my first class in 2011, I became hooked.

After training for a few years, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge of CrossFit and become a coach and help train people to achieve their fitness goals. I drove 13 hours to Cookeville, Tennessee to obtain my CrossFit Level 1 Certification (CF-L1) and soon after became a coach at my local box. I quickly found joy and a sense of gratification in coaching. At this point, I realized this is what I wanted to do with my life. Now, I am truly excited to open my own affiliate and be able to give back to people and my community what CrossFit has given me. My dream has now come true.

I grew up playing tons of sports; soccer, baseball, basketball, golf… I was all over the place. By the time high school rolled around I was pretty much full time with soccer, playing on 4 different teams at varying levels. I even almost played in college, but decided last minute to go to PSU for a better education over playing soccer. With that said, all of that activity I had playing soccer came to a halt. It wasn’t until my junior year that I decided I needed to get serious about fitness again. I did your typical globo-gym (or as I call it Narp style workout, if you don’t know what that means, come ask me) for about 1.5 years until I saw the CrossFit games on ESPN, and I knew I had to try it. Unfortunately, like many people, I saw these people lifting crazy weights on ESPN, so naturally I thought I needed to be stronger before I started CrossFit, HUGE MISTAKE. If you haven’t started CrossFit because you think you need to be stronger, or in better shape first… drop what you are doing and come to the gym. My strength and conditioning numbers now compared to before CrossFit aren’t even close, CrossFit was the answer.

snow fireme I have been in love with fitness since I joined the Army in 2002. Growing up in Fort Myers, Florida I was always active and outside playing around. I got into fitness after my first deployment where I acted as the Physical Training Noncommisioned Officer in Charge (PTNCOIC), upon returning home I began to research how to become a personal trainer. Not too long after I earned my first fitness credential, the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, and began the road that would lead me to CrossFit. I was always interested in High Intensity Training, and I was the only Personal Trainer on staff that was not on the Powerlifting Team for that reason. Finally, I found my way to CrossFit during my Afghanistan deployment, when some of my Soldiers asked me to join them doing a “WOD”, 20 minutes later I was outside the Fitness Tent puking my brains out… and I was sold!

I soon decided I needed to learn more so I attended my Level 1 Trainer course in CrossFit in West Palm Beach, Fl at CrossFit BGI, and the rest is history. Now, I hold nearly 20 fitness certifications, have been a Head Personal Trainer and Program Assistant at FGCU, A Head Coach and Programmer for a CrossFit Affiliate with 390 members, an Assistant Instructor for USA Weightlifting, and now a Coach at the best CrossFit Affiliate in all of SW Florida, CrossFit Fireball.

snow I stumbled upon CrossFit in 2007 when I moved to a new office above a box. I dropped in for an introductory class and was immediately hooked. I knew right away that this was something I could stick with. Not only was I seeing results quickly, I enjoyed having a community that supported each other in meeting our goals. Nothing makes me happier in the gym, than seeing someone reach a goal, or hit a PR; especially when I’ve helped coach them through their journey of hard work, perseverance and sometimes self-doubt. Prior to CrossFit, I was an avid cyclist (well… more like a weekend warrior). I have participated in centuries, triathlons, and mountain bike races but nothing challenges, or inspires me quite the way CrossFit does. Certifications:

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
  • CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer
  • CrossFit Movement and Mobility Trainer

Sports and fitness have always been a major part of my life! I grew up in Central PA with two older brothers and we were all very involved in sports. I lettered in three sports during high school: football, basketball and track and received state recognition in basketball. But it was during my 10thgrade year in high school that a coach introduced me to weightlifting and I was hooked from the beginning! While earning a Physical Fitness Specialist degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology (an affiliate to Penn State University), I continued my lifting regiment but during my internship, I was introduced to CrossFit and I knew right then it was going to be a key part of my future. In 2014, I had a second internship working with Division One athletes while further studying at the University of Kentucky. I starting training and competing in Olympic lifting competitions and earned my CrossFit Level 1 training certification during my time in Kentucky.

Moving to Florida and working at this facility is a dream come true. I am excited to get to know everyone as we train together

-see you at the gym! Certifications:

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
